Super Thin Byzantine Necklace
I made this super thin Byzantine Chainmaille necklace from my extremely tiny 24 gauge wire. As far as I can tell this chain is the thinnest handmade Byzantine chain in the world. Plus I weld each link closed so this chain is durable while being super tiny! I made this necklace from scratch. I started with super thin 24 gauge Stainless Steel wire. I wrapped that wire around a rod, in this case I wrapped it around a piece of 16 gauge wire. Then I cut each link from the coil by hand one at a time. Then I assembled the links using two pairs of pliers and a little modified welder I used to weld each link closed. You'll notice that in these photos the chain is not made with welded links, yours will be, I just haven't had a chance to photograph this one yet.
