Infinate Triple Byzantine Necklace
I made this beauty from Stainless Steel wire using a pattern I invented when I was ten years old. I’ve been making Chainmaille since around 1999 and I first created this variation on the very known and traditional pattern called Byzantine in 2001. It is a six sided version of Byzantine, which is normally four sided. This changes everything and turns it into a totally unique looking piece. This necklace is also infinitized, meaning there is no clasp and the chain is continuous.
I make all of my chains from scratch, by hand. I start with raw wire and wrap it around a rod to form the shape of the links. Then I cut circles from that coil. Next I assemble each link with two pairs of pliers. At this point I weld the opening of each link so that they are seamless in the end. I am the only Chainmaille maker who welds each link closed and this makes my work a cut above. It’s smooth to the touch, doesn’t pull on hairs, and will last a lifetime. Made from Stainless Steel, this necklace can get we or get sweaty and it won’t mind a bit. Wear and enjoy for as many decades as you’d like.
